Membership

✨ IWGGD membership is built on collaboration — bringing together experts to advance research, improve patient care, and shape international guidelines in Gaucher disease.

Membership is open to researchers, clinicians, and diagnostic professionals worldwide who are actively engaged in Gaucher disease and affiliated with an academic or medical institution.
Membership is not open to industry.

Why join IWGGD?

As a member, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Join IWGGD Working Groups — the core of IWGGD’s scientific activities

  • Contribute to international projects, collaborative studies, and guideline development

  • Participate in IWGGD meetings, scientific initiatives, and networking events

  • Apply for short-term scholarships and preceptorships

  • Host and train researchers or scholars at your institution

  • Stay up to date with developments in the field through our monthly newsletter

Membership Categories

Institutional Membership (Primary)

For academic and medical institutions (universities, hospitals, research centers).

  • The institution holds the membership and is granted one vote in IWGGD matters

  • Covers multiple individuals from the same institution

  • Each individual must submit a personal application to be included in IWGGD activities

Only members affiliated with an institutional membership are eligible for:

  • Board nomination

  • Working Group Chair positions


Association (Individual) Membership (Transitional)

For individual researchers, clinicians, or students whose institution is not yet registered.

  • Applies to one individual only

  • Valid for up to 2 years

  • Does not include voting rights

  • Not eligible for Board or Working Group Chair roles

👉 Individual membership is intended as a temporary pathway, and members are encouraged to support the registration of their institution.
